Potatoes need quite a bit of space and need to be hilled or covered with some kind of mulch a few times over their growing span to create larger, new potatoes.<br /><br />So unless you can transplant them to a really big box of soil or something, you might just get the sprouted potatoes rotting in the pots.<br /><br />Or maybe you'll get some very, very tiny new potatoes.
