promotion

so they took the guy who was the most surly, lazy, shifty stock boy at the grocery store and decided to make him a cashier.

...at which job he is competent and polite.

some things cannot be explained.

Some people need to find their best job. One of the worst OR aides - general cleaning and turnover and she was useless, shifted to sterile processing, and is excellent.
